A microscope equipped with infinity objectives is certainly a more sophisticated instrument and richer in possibilities than a normal one: an instrument also suitable for high-level scientific observation.
The infinity objectives allow to simplify the use of the microscope with some particular techniques, such as fluorescence, polarized light and others, and to obtain cleaner and chromatically correct images.
The lenses of these objectives focus the image of the sample at infinity and no longer at a distance of 160mm and therefore the distance between the objective and the eyepiece can be changed without the optical yield problems of traditional objectives.
Furthermore, there is less danger of reflections and no eyepieces are needed to compensate for the aberrations of a normal lens.
